A calmer to-do list

How about
you just do it today?

As easy as jotting on paper — but it lives everywhere you do. No projects, no overdue, no alarms. And when you'd rather not type, just tell your AI agent; it reads and writes your list with you.

↑ It's live — type a task, star it, pick a color.

Why it feels different

Most apps ask you to organize before you're allowed to begin.

No projects

Nothing to file, nest, or tag. A task is just a task — drop it down and move on.

No overdue

Nothing turns red. Nothing scolds you. Unfinished work simply waits on tomorrow.

No alarms

No badges, no buzzing, no streaks to protect. You open it when you want to — not when it demands.

Your AI agent, on the same page

Rather not type? Just tell your agent.

How About Today speaks MCP. Tell the assistant you already use to connect and name the access you want — it generates the request for you. Approve it once and it can read what's on your plate and act on it: add, move, reorder, color, star, repeat, check off. Dictate; your list fills in.

  • Works with Claude, Codex, Hermes, OpenClaw, and any MCP-capable agent.
  • You pick the scope — read-only or read & write — and the agent requests exactly that. Revocable anytime.
  • No passwords, no API keys to paste. A one-time email code signs you in; your agent is approved with a tap.

How it works

Four small gestures. That's the whole app.

It takes about ten seconds to learn and a lifetime to outgrow — which you won't.

i.

Type it

Start typing the moment it lands in your head. No menus, no fields.

just start typing
ii.

Hit Enter

And it's on today's list. Keep going — capture the whole brain-dump in one breath.

add
iii.

Star what matters

A quiet mark for what you'd hate to miss — just another way to tell tasks apart. It doesn't reorder a thing.

Sstar
iv.

Give it a color

Four soft colors — your own quiet code. No labels required.

One menu, every move

And yes — tasks can repeat.

Hover a task and it's already selected — so just hit W (or click the ⋯) and a small menu does the rest: copy, star, highlight, push to the next day, set aside, delete — and repeat, so the things you do every day, week, or month show up on their own.

  • Repeat daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, or annually — set it once.
  • Highlight in green, yellow, blue, or rose — your own quiet code.
  • Press W to open the menu on desktop — every action inside still has its own single key.

The quiet magic

Didn't get to it? It's already on tomorrow.

When the day ends, anything still open glides to tomorrow — keeping its star and color. No red, no overdue, no clean-up ritual. And there's no “past” to wade back through: you only ever look forward.

  • Unfinished tasks move themselves — you never reschedule a thing.
  • Done today stays struck through until the day closes, then quietly clears. (We keep it 14 days, just in case.)
  • Desktop shows the next few days at a glance — as many as fit comfortably; your phone shows just today.

Leave “Parcel” unchecked, and when Friday ends it's simply waiting on Saturday — the roll happens on its own, so you never reschedule.

The Box

Not now? Set it aside — guilt-free.

Some things aren't for today, or this week, or maybe any planned day at all. Tuck them into the Box. They leave your day completely, and wait — quietly — until you reach for them.

  • Move anything off today without deleting or scheduling it.
  • The Box never nags. It's a shelf, not a backlog.
  • Ready at last? Bring it back to today in one move.

Questions

The short version.

A few of the things people ask first.

Read the full FAQ →
Is there really no way to make projects?
Correct — and that's the point. Colors and stars give you just enough structure to find your footing, without the hours people lose maintaining folders, tags, and priorities. If you need a heavyweight project tool, How About Today isn't trying to be one.
Can my AI agent actually use it?
Yes — it speaks MCP. Approve Claude, Codex, Hermes, OpenClaw, or any agent for read-only or read & write access, and it can add, move, reorder, color, star, repeat, and check off tasks alongside you. Dictate instead of type. No password or API key to paste — a one-time email code handles sign-in.
What happens to tasks I don't finish?
They move to tomorrow on their own — never marked late or overdue. There's no past to revisit: done tasks show for the day, then quietly clear (we keep them 14 days, just in case).
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any browser and installs as a web app (PWA) on phones, tablets, and desktops. Keyboard shortcuts are available wherever you have a keyboard.
What's the catch with the free trial?
None. Fourteen days of everything, no card required. After that it's $5/month, and you can cancel in a single click whenever you like.
Who handles billing? What shows on my statement?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. How About Today is operated by Streamliner One LLC, so your card statement will show a "HOWABOUT.TODAY" charge from Streamliner One LLC.
